Regarding the matter of “some banks in Hong Kong requiring investors to sign a declaration when opening investment accounts,” the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) issued a response on the same day, stating that the relevant regulatory requirements were issued to all authorized institutions on May 22. According to materials provided by the HKMA, authorized institutions are required to take three additional measures when opening and managing investment accounts for mainland investors: identify and close client investment accounts that were opened using suspicious or forged documents since January 2023 or during any other period specified by the HKMA; close accounts that have had no asset balance as of May 22, 2026, and in which no customer activity has occurred within the 12 months prior to the reference date; and obtain a written declaration from mainland investors when opening new investment accounts.

To further improve the quality of services and management related to the consumption tax, the State Taxation Administration has issued an announcement clarifying matters concerning consumption tax returns: Two new schedules—the “Baijiu Consumption Tax Calculation Schedule” and the “Baijiu Producer Affiliated Sales Unit Information Report”—have been added as Schedules 6 and 7 to the “Consumption Tax and Supplementary Taxes Return.” The original Schedule 6, “Consumption Tax and Supplementary Taxes Calculation Schedule,” has been renumbered as Schedule 8. The two newly added schedules apply only to baijiu excise tax payers; excise tax return forms for other categories remain unchanged.

Announcement No. 10 of 2026 issued by the State Taxation Administration clarifies that the new version of tax enforcement documents has officially taken effect, and the old version has been simultaneously repealed. This update optimizes several standard templates and introduces new specialized approval and record forms. The new regulations stipulate that enterprises may refuse an inspection in cases where there is no prior approval, the new forms are not used, or the inspection is conducted by a single officer. This measure will standardize tax enforcement, assist enterprises in complying with regulations and protecting their rights, and reduce tax-related disputes.

Effective August 24, 2026, Amazon will update Section 18 of the Amazon Services Business Solutions Agreement to explicitly state that sellers are strictly prohibited from transferring or pledging their stores without the platform’s prior written consent, with the aim of reducing the risk of duplicate payments, payment delays, or payment failures. Any violation of this provision will be deemed invalid, and the platform reserves the right to freeze the account immediately. By continuing to use the selling services after the effective date of this change, you indicate your acceptance of this change.
